When i drove to Denmark because I wanted to see Jack Savoretti in real life I could´nt believe that I really made it! I was so nervous about the interview. I have never before interviewed someone in english and now I´ll done it with one of the artist in my top ten. I always say wrong words in swedish, so. Wow!!!

The Dutch band The Cosmic Carnival is a colourful rock & roll band with a strong live reputation, being hailed by critics as one of the most exciting and promising acts of The Lowlands. Despite the many influences, mainly from the 60’s and 70’s, their original material sounds fresh and unique, carefully blending many different genres into their own genuine sound.

Twin Atlantic, November 2014

In August Twin Atlantic released their latest album Great Divide and since then they’ve been packing endless gigs and promotion into their schedule. In a cellar in a tiny Irish pub in the Old Town of Stockholm, three quarters of the Scottish rock band are getting ready to play a couple of songs to an audience of no more than 20 people. I’ve been to some unusual showcases before but this tops them all.  Mostly because this is a band I’ve seen play to thousands of people in the UK.

My hand is shaking slightly as I pick up my phone to call the singer in one of my favourite bands. I take a deep breath, exhale slowly and press call. All I can think is “don’t fuck this up, don’t make yourself look like an idiot, don’t say anything stupid” and then my train of thought is interrupted by a voice down the line saying “Hello.”

It’s been a long time coming but finally You Me At Six are in Stockholm for their first ever headline show in Sweden. Their fourth album Cavalier Youth was released in January and the band is now touring Europe playing the new songs. I sat down with drummer Dan Flint in their dressing room a couple of hours ahead of the gig for a talk about the new album, life on the road and keeping up with the expectations of the fans.
